The media center at Horizons is used for math labs, science labs, research and enrichment activities, technology training, and general class research. The media center has library books and reference materials for student use.
Education City
Education City is a web based program that enables students to use technology to understand various concepts taught in the classrooms across America. This software allows each student to work on his/her academic function level in the areas of Math, Science, Language Arts and English.
One component of this program is the Success Tracker. This component allows teachers to monitor the success of a class or an individual student. The second component, the Standards Map links every activity to a standard objective, more specifically the national standardards. Student deficiencies as identifed by Stanford 10 Test results will assist teachers in determining appropriate assignments for the students while they are working with Education City activities. The third component, Set My City, quickly groups classroom content for students to work through. The fourth component, Set Homework, allows teachers to assign homework for various students.
